北米業界合併白紙へ？

んで、ともかく、なにがなんだか判らないけど、結局、ボロメーオＱや上海Ｑを持ってる音楽事務所がでっかいところに吸収合併される、という話は、うやむやになっちゃったようです。これがその後を伝えるNYタイムズのウォーキンちゅー記者の短い記事。ええい、面倒なんで、抜粋して貼り付けちゃうぞ。後半は解説みたいなものだから、意味があるのは（中略）の前までです。良いのかなぁ、こんなことしても（いつこの記事消すか判りません）。８月３日に出た記事です。関係者に拠れば、ICMにもっと良い話があった、ということだそうな。この記事の時点で両者とも取材には応えてくれないそうな。そりゃそーだ。

IMG Artists' effort to buy the classical music division of International Creative Management, the Los Angeles-based talent agency, has fallen apart, according to two sources familiar with the negotiations. The deal was nearly complete, with only contract language to be worked out, when I.C.M. Artists, a small part of its parent group, was approached by another suitor and tried to renegotiate the price, said a person involved at a high level in the talks.（中略） Along with Columbia Artists Management, the agencies are the heavyweights in the classical music business. I.C.M. Artists represents Yo-Yo Ma, above, and Wynton Marsalis, along with other big names and major orchestras. IMG Artists represents Ren ée Fleming, Lang Lang, Itzhak Perlman and others, and is controlled by Barrett Wissman, a Texas financier and investor.

さても、この合併話を巡っては、いろいろとうさんくさあぁあああ～ああああああぁあい話も飛び交っていたようですけど、こうなっちゃうと竜頭蛇尾、大山鳴動、いったい何だったんじゃ、とNYタイムズのデスクに訊きたい。こんな日経みたいなことやるの、おたくさんも。うううん。

なんにせよ、室内楽業界は貧乏だ。金の動く話となると蚊帳の外だ。何が確かって、それだけは確かだ。ヨーヨーならともかく、クァルテットは合併のオマケにもならん。いやはや。
