シュタンツ監督ケルン退任 [演奏家]
NYへの出発が24時間を切って、毎度ながら荷物詰めなど全然やってないし、このままでは終えて出発する予定の原稿も連れて行くことになりそうだ。いやはや。ってなわけでうんとバタバタしてるので、本日もニュースひとつのみ。関心のある方はほぼ数人の業界人事。
一昨年（になるんだなぁ）に上海で「リング」サイクルを連日公演で敢行したケルン歌劇場の音楽監督マルクス・シュタンツが2014年を以て退任するというリリースがオペラハウスから来ました。
珍しくも小生が撮影したまともなスナップ。「ヴァルキューレ」終演後、深夜の12時過ぎに上海大劇院楽屋にて。5時間指揮した直後で、この元気さ。
とにもかくにも、以下にまんま貼り付けます。ま、日本ではあまり話題にもならないだろうが、一部にマニアックな関心の方もいるでしょうから。
個人的にはこの数年、いちばんお世話になった指揮者さんだしね。ケルンの劇場が改装になってオープンするシーズンをやって終わり、ってことですな。この劇場、改装中を逆手にとって、あの「光からの日曜日」というとんでもないものを上演しちゃったわけで、そこにはシュタンツ氏は絡んでなかったみたいだけど、そういう賢い劇場の監督を10年やってたのはこの先にも大きな経験になるんでしょうね。どこに動くかは、知りません。ベルリン・ドイツオペラくらいには行って欲しいけどなぁ。

MARKUS STENZ TO LEAVE COLOGNE IN SUMMER 2014
Markus Stenz will step down as Music Director of the Gürzenich Orchestra and General Music Director of the City of Cologne when his existing contract expires in the summer of 2014. He has decided not to exercise his option to extend the contract for a further two years.
“My contract as Music Director of the Gürzenich Orchestra does not end for another two years. The orchestra, opera and also the city itself do however need clarity in good time as to the personnel changes which will have to be made,” said Stenz during Mahler’s 7th Symphony rehearsals for the closing concerts of the season.
“My decision is independent of the on-going discussions on the financial future of the Cologne Opera,” said Stenz. “When my current contract ends in 2014 I will have completed 10 years of musical responsibility in Cologne. From my perspective as an artist this seems a good time to make a change.”
“In these 10 years the Gürzenich Orchestra has achieved a great deal; its consistently outstanding musical performances and the international success of its recording activities have won the orchestra the trust of its audience and guest artists in its artistic quality. Together these form a good foundation for the continuing development and growth of the international awareness of Cologne’s Gürzenich Orchestra.”
In the coming two years Stenz will complete the recording of all Mahler’s symphonies and, through touring the orchestra, give it the best possible opportunities for further development.
“In my last two seasons we will continue our hugely successful and fruitful work both in the concert hall and the opera house aspiring always to communicate our ’Heilige Kunst’ to the widest possible audience through our never ending endeavour to achieve the exceptional through our musical expression and total commitment to the sheer joy of performing.”

毎度です。私には、ギュルツニッヒ管のイメージが強く、後任はどなたになるのかということに興味があります。日本ではケルン放送交響楽団の方が、若杉氏やベルティーニ氏、はたまたビシュコフで人気があったようですが、ギュルツニッヒもいいオケですから。

ホントは、日本のオケに取りたい方ですよねぇ。NJPは決まっちゃったし、日本フィルはしばらくは「稼ぐ」路線で行かざるを得ないんでこういうタイプはキツイだろうし。案外、読響辺りが適任かなぁ、なんて思うんですけどね。ま、たまにはこういう気楽な話も。

あらー、そうですか。コンロン時代が長かったのに、もう新しいシェフに？私はこの方の時代は知りませんが、元同僚の（契約団員でしたが）私としては、ライン地方の中では決して華美ではないけれど、質の高い、正統派のいいオケが、そのまま変わらずにいてくれるシェフが来てくれるといいですね。
